Oh boy, what a full week of coding. I had a good week, but I did feel under the pressure of my homework due dates. With my barbershop website finished, I can breathe easy.

How do you describe the feeling of imposter syndrome? When does it affect you the most? Why?

Imposter Syndrome means that you don’t feel like you deserve to be in the position you're in or the value of your work. When you doubt your accomplishments or talents and have a persistent internalized fear of being exposed as a “fraud”. It affects me the most with my art. I know logically that I make pretty things, but I can look up to others and devalue myself. I think it affects me most then because I see so much talent in others, and I can be blind to my own.

What have you learned about the tech world that you are happy to know?

I am happy to know that there are so many paths to follow in the industry. There are so many careers and languages and fields to grow into.

Why is the way we talk to ourselves in our inner mind so important? What effect can it have on our well-being?

When we have positive self-talk, we can grow better and quicker. When we value ourselves, we can fully engage our physical and mental self. But when we are negative we have a harder time focusing. We deprecate ourselves and the things we do.

What about this course is challenging you the most? How do you think you are growing through it?

I have a hard time with finding a good balance between working to my satisfaction and just getting it done. I will spend too much time making something pretty that I can leave little time to do the rest of the technical work. I am growing to find good time management practices. I can make a technically sound page and then make it beautiful when I have the time.

What has your spare time looked like in comparison to what it looked like a year ago?

I am spending more time learning new things! I had gone to massage school two years ago, and I have slacked on picking up new things since then. So, I am extremely happy being a student and spending time growing my toolset.
